I down loaded a free program from Germany called 
Meta Care Base and installed it for creating indicies. To do this you need to 
download the necessary stocks in the index and click on the index execution 
file. 
 
Another problem is there is some German used in 
describing different dialog windows and the installation process. They have a 
English version for their manual of operation. I used Alta Vista 
translator  (free) to enable my comprehension.
 
I use it for SP500, QQQ, OEX and some special 
indicies for stocks I favor.

  problem I have was that there where no quotes for the US sectorindex, it was
