Try updating the following:
1. Display drivers
2. Internet Explorer and other windows components (Start ->
Windows -> Update)
then gradually expand to other things (network drivers, relevant
motherboard drivers).
Often these sorts of errors are unrelated to the application but
sometimes stressed by the way certain programmers do things that
reveal bugs other applications don't.

I've installed Version 8.01 and it didn't fix the crash problem I
