Metastock allows definition of precision by use of its "Precision" 
function. Check page 258 in the manual or the help files of the 
program. 

Looking at your explanation you use a MACD(dema). Is this a dema 
smoothed MACD()? Do you have both the MACD() and the dema(MACD())
plotted on your chart? Dema is a amoothing method which introduces lag
(all moving averages do). If the MACD() was at a value of 0 then it 
is likely the dema with its inherant lag would have a lesser/greater 
value depending on direction.

You are correct about using a binary to identify signals. Just make 
sure your binary uses the same signals.
