Welcome to challenging world of trading.
I wholeheartedly agree with the views and advice that Harish
has given you, so pay close attention to the points he makes.
My own two cents is that no matter if you choose to be a mechanical
or discretionary trader, you need to understand both the psychology
of the market and your own personal psychology. You must also
have a firm grasp of risk management (e.g. how much funds to
commit to each signal or trade, the expectancy of your system, etc.).
In this regard, I highly recommend your reading :
1. Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom by Van Tharp
2. Market Psychology by Martin Pring
As other list members have pointed out, do not overdose on books.
Read one at a time and try to integrate what it teaches. Learn how
to learn effectively.
