  Can I assume <FONT face=Arial
  size=2>H:\WINNT\system32 is in fact
  %systemroot%\system32?

  TL : i suppose yes
  .

  ...and that your "my
mstask.exe is outdated (7/12/1999)" actually referred to
  mstask.dll?

  TL : i really wouldnot
  know.

Remind me to send you a box of
Krispy Kremes if the XP version solves your problem :)

TL : did you attach it ?
(i didnot found an attachment to your email).

  Thanks

  Theo

      My current version of
4.71.2195.1 shows a modification date of 5/4/2001 [as does the
version in in my sp2 files]. The one it replaced  shows a
      modification date of 12/7/1999.

      Don't understand your "my
      mstask.exe is outdated (7/12/1999)" vs. "I have SP2
and i so had the file ".
      If the mod date of
      the mstask.exe
in your \system32 is  7/12/1999, it got theredue to an
overwrite by something installed after sp2.
