I discovered that in Win
XP, in order to get Task Scheduler to work properly, the user ****must**** have
a password set up at log-in.  For a while I wasn't using a password, to
make it easier to reboot.  But, alas, if I want to use Task Scheduler, a
password became necessary.

  Hello friends,

As stated before i am running into a lot of problems
with the Windows Task scheduler :
After a long search i maybe have found the problem :
  my mstask.exe is outdated (7/12/1999) .
Microsoft tells sp2 "should have"  this newer version : (or is
  there a newer update ??)

Windows 2000 The English version of this fix for Windows 2000 should
have the following file attributes or later: Date Time Version Size File name
