AW: Question again: how to read metastock file?

Yes, I can confirm both points. Deciding on MSFL vs. Metalib depends on what
you want to achieve.

Personally I use another tool to update and maintain the Metastock database
(MetaCareBase at www.invest-tools.com which is free and lightning fast).

On the other hand, I extensively use Metalib only to read Metastock data for
further processing. To me, the speed is then not a big issue, i.e. it's
still fast enough for the couple of hundreds of securities I follow. But the
ease of programming is, and this is a biig plus with Metalib. Also, there
are many features handily implemented in Metalib, where you would have much
work with MSFL.
