I talked to my ISP (DSL), USWest, about these 'intruders,' and they said
that as long as: a) 'share' is not enabled on your hard disks, or b) if
share is enabled, it is password protected, that one need not worry about
intruders.
Additionally, USWest is now having us set up our systems as 'PPP,' and no
longer 'Bridging,' and that this new arrangement will include a 'firewall'
that will keep out intruders.
Hope this is all accurate.
