Windows 95 and 98 are not based on the same memory models and limitations do
not applay the same way.

The 4x times factor is not true for NT (both NT Workstations and Server) and
NT 2000 enterprise ex NT5. NT is pure 386 paged mode (except the TCP/IP
layer with is still 286 extended mode type code, but it will be changed in
the NT2000 enterprise), the limit per program is a lot more than 128 Mb.

Ton:

Thanks for this posting. You have clarified an important issue for me.

You are saying that I upgrade to Win2000 to get better perfromance, that
simply getting more RAM wont help.

I used to be involved with standards and products liability. A litigant
could win/lose a case if the product met or did not meet recognized
industrial standards and performed under normal and expected use. For
software I guess the standard should be that it performs its expected
function in a reasonable and efficient way, with no or very few bugs.

There are programs that will convert MAC and PC programs, we need one that
will convert PC to Linnux programs.

Warm regards

Lionel Issen
