RE: "Not all records in date range were read."

Thanks Ken. I received a similar response from Equis. None of those
suggestions solved the problem which is why I thought I'd ask this group for
suggestions.

Here's what some more experimentation has revealed:

1.) The chart in question is the NYSE A-D line. It is constructed from a
"Composite Security" created in The Downloader. The composite is created by
subtracting NYSE Advancers from NYSE Decliners.

2.) I'm getting the exact same problems with the NASDAQ A-D composite and
the AMEX A-D composite as well as my NH-NL series of charts.

3.) Adjusting the start and end dates along the X-Axis causes the problem to
appear/disappear. There is some kind of relationship between the start date
and today's date that cause one of three things to occur: a.) Everything
works great. b.) I get the "Not all records in date range were read"
message. or c.) I get an "End of File" message. Despite a couple of hours
of experimentation, I haven't been able to determine what the relationship
between the start dates and these results is.

4.) This morning, I converted the Composite Security into a "real" Security
file (using a painful process involving the Downloader, the Clipboard, and
Excel) and tried again. This time everything worked fine. Hooray! The
problem, of course, is that there is no easy way of automatically updating
this converted data. I'll probably have to write another WinBatch file to
automate things.

BTW, in the course of my investigation, I noticed another scary problem when
using "Composite Securities" - simple moving averages of the A-D Line were
wrong and (get this) deleting one of the MAs caused the other one to change
it's location! And, no, I made sure that I didn't accidentally have a
moving average of a moving average. Bizarre.

So I'm concluding that the "Composite Security" feature is not working
correctly in MetaStock 6.52 and I'm advising people to double-check any
charts they have that use this feature.
