Could not initialize C-Tree

Have you seen this error message:
"Could not initialize C-Tree"?

It appears during boot-up, just before the "QV" icon comes into view.

A friend, who does not use MS, indicated that the error message indicates that
the hard drive has insufficient space for a data base.

Any comments or suggestion will be appreciated.
