I just completed my final test of Prophet and had several problems. For
whatever reason, I was unable to set up a reliable EOD download. It would
work one day. The next day, I would get only part of my prices, and I would
try it 3 or 4 times in order to get all of my data. I have no idea why I was
having such a problem especially since I only download about 35 futures
contracts, indices and a couple of stocks.
When I sent the capture.txt files to Equis, the response was that this was a
known problem with Telscan and they had been in communication with them to
fix it. I can send you a copy of Equis' e-mail if you like.
I know Steve K. uses Prophet, but he uses their own downloader versus
MetaStock's. I may try them again, using their proprietary downloader, but
I just got billed on my credit card for $34.95 for my free trial and will
send them an e-mail today to see if I can get this resolved.
Again, I have had communications with someone here who uses Downloader and
Prophet without a problem, so I don't know why I had all the troubles I had.

Subject: Primate vs Prophet EOD service
Someone on this list stated in a post last week that they were leaving
Primate and going to Prophet. I have been a Primate user for about 45
days. Will that person please post the shortcomings they found with
Primate and the principal reasons for the switch to Prophet? If their is
something I need to know about Primate, I would like to know it asap.
