Ed,

It may be a video overload, if it only causes problems with the largest
file. Try slowing down your graphics and see if that cures the problem.
If so, then a new video card might be worth looking at.

To slow the graphics, double click System in the Control Panel, click
Performance tab, then Graphics button. Slide the Hardware acceleration
indicator back to a slower setting.

Incidentally, the only problem I have had with the upfdate is the execrable
slowness of the Downloader. On my machine it is completely unusable, so I
will be reloading the old version at least until Equis have come up with a
new patch.

I reported previously that the only problem I had with MSW6.52, was

the inability to load one particular layout. Half way through, after

loading several securities with a couple of alerts! the

screen reports that MSWIN has performed an illegal operation with advice

to contact the program vendor if the problem persists. I then get dumped

back to W98. Any attempt to reload Metastock results in a lockup with the

new (rather attractive)introductory logo showing.

With great difficulty, I then have to reboot before I can load Metastock.

The problem seems to be only with this one layout, that is 850kb in size.

Other layouts load fine. My question to the group is, how can I edit or
view the layout file to

help discover what is upsetting the new program. I intend to make a new

layout using the same securities but I need to list them first. How?

Ed Hancock
