Dan,

Thanks for the input. I am apparently still having the same problem
this morning. Since you were able to download with reasonable performance
this morning, my assumption has to go back to the idea that I changed something
on my system as part of the installs that is causing the download problem
with www.qp2.com.

Having slept on the issue, I noted that the sites where I was able to
download with successful performance did not use SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
I'll try some downloads from the E-Trade and Louis Navallier sites after
my most recent attempt to download from Quotes Plus which has been sitting
at 40 of 174K for over 3 minutes now.

As to the upgrade to Netscape v4.5, that went like a charm. This
problem with Quotes Plus is the only thing that I have noted as a problem.
This is the first time that I have had any need to use the Netscape Help
System and I would have to rate it as very poor for purposes of Problem
Determination, although it may be adequate for "How to" issues.

Thanks again for the input.

Bob

I recently upgraded to a USR 56K modem and I tested it with MCI.
It connected at 46.7K and I was able to download the 2 weekend files, about
250K and 1.08 MB, in 5 minutes. The download took place at 12:30am
PST Sunday. While the download speed could have been faster, I am
satisfied with the speed.

You may be having problems connecting to the QP2 address. Call
Prodigy and ask them if you need any DNS numbers entered into your MS Dial-up
Networking. I am assuming Prodigy uses the MS-DUN and not their own
proprietary software to connect (as AOL does). BTW: did you
have any trouble upgrading your previous version of Netscape to v4.5?

Daniel.

Is Metastock 6.5 Euro and Y2K compliant?
Does anyone know particulary good sites about TA and especially about
Volume analysis?
