MetaStock System Tester

Hello J.W.E.,
When I wrote
my first email, I suspected I'd have to do that. The problem is I'll
have to write a formula which incorporates 3 different stochastics with
variables all at the same time. Since I am not fully familiar with the
System Tester, I think it will take at least a full day.

Also, Metastock has a poor implementation of
stops. In actual trading, I would never allow more than a
15% loss in one day. However, using end-of-day data, MetaStock doesn't
use intraday stops. So, any results I get will get will be
suspect. Big move days, such as that 500 drop we had on late Aug 31,
would completely distort the Tester's results. Frankly, I don't know
how much value the Tester has. Is it really worth using; spending
weeks learning all the commands, formulas, and intricacies?
I have mentioned this problem to Equis several times,
as far back as Aug/97, and nothing as been done.

Equis did mention that I could buy the Pro version, save the datafeed,
and then perform tests on the data I have accumulated. The problem is,
you can only perform very short-term tests on the data you have. You
cannot perform tests going back several years. All I want is for Equis
to fix this bug, and it is a bug. I'd even be willing to pay $50 for the fix, if that
helps. If they included it in the trendlines package, I'd
buy it. <IMG align=absBottom height=16
