"Save as" the changed template as Default.mwt in a separate folder.

-make your changes to the chart(s)
-when finished changing, press New|Layout-button
-add (all) chart(s) to this layout
-then "save as" this layout as Default.mwt in 'just' a separate folder, then go to that folder
and 'move' this new Default.mwt to the Dlwin program folder(overwrite excisting).
-this you will have to do each time you make changes to "its" chart(s)

Now, this way, any newly choosen "open" security will be opened automaticaly
with the use of this newly created Default.mwt, the by "you" desired and recent saved template.
As Metastock also does have the habit to create "MsCharts" folders holding the SmartCharts
you will either have to keep these in a separate folder, or like I do DELete them both before start-up.
