You are right. It is the old Computrac format, who was a very early data
provider. Equis has gone their own way with the format, cramming additional
information into the same fixed length record. The record was designed for
early PC's (even before IBM I believe) which had limited memory and data
storage, and has goofy data formats designed for Basic, which limits the size
of numbers in certain fields to a plus or minus 67K, if I remember right. If
their Year 2000 fix isn't a total revision of the record, they will perpetuate
some existing limitations.
