Well, Pardon me Sir!
But "how" you select your stock/securities is one of the basics you
learn when using TA, not every indicator will give the proper signals
when you can switch between:
-bars/line
-daily/weekly/monthly and even yearly data
-trade/invest indicators
-charting/channaling, support/resistance, lines/levels
-very short term, short term, medium term and long term periods
need I go on? I think you should get back to the first lessons in TA
wich can be found in Steve Achalis's EXCELLENT introduction
and reference to TA: "Technical Analysis from A to Z".

Richard W. Arms - Arms Index(part of Technical Market Index), Equivolume,
Ease of Movement
book: VOLUME CYCLES IN THE STOCK MARKET
Chapter 11: "Wave Patterns on Weekly Charts"
"quote": Our reasons for using weekly charts are twofold. First is the confirming
value they add to the DAILY work. They provide a tool whereby the trader can
make sure that he is not bucking a primary trend. It is extremely important that
a trader be in phase with the stock. The second use of weekly charts is for
longer-term investments. In this usage, the same METHODS are applied by the
investor as would be applied by the trader using daily charts"unquote".

I just received this excellent book as a present when I updated from MS60
to MS65, but in ANY TA book you will be URGED to the importance of using
the RIGHT TA tools as your BASIS, most important combined, for any concrete
and valuable output readings.

As an example of the weekly output see the .gif I send to the List before(att.) and
just notice that the Dow finds its long-term major support level at 3800!!!!
and that the 4300-4800-5300 range will be this years target.
The best is to stick to the basics of TA and then select the right applicable TA-tools.
Multy-equiped MetaStock is your toolbox.

Regards,
Ton.
