[amibroker] Is it recommended to only process visible bars when possible?

When writing a formula that only needs to use the data in the set of bars that is actually visible within the constraints of the chart's time frame, is it preferred (I would presume it to be) to only use those bars and skip the rest of the data that precedes it?

Obviously this would not be doable for things like moving averages, but for other types of indicators.

Question is, how do you get the oldest visible bar on the timeframe?
