Dennis --
I agree.  This thread is a good example.  By the time you get to the beginning of the thread at the bottom of the sheet, its almost unreadable.

About 18 months ago, a group which I belong to in Boston switched from Yahoogroups to Googlegroups.  It was a MAJOR improvement.  No Yahoo adds screwing up the text format; each item in a thread properly indented; and FAST.  Plus email never bounced!!  The only problem is that some individuals still 'break' the thread by not including what came before.  Do they really think that they are somehow saving bits that will help keep our planet green?

Yuki,

IMHO, technically speaking only, there is one thing that is terribly
broke with the current email option. I do not know the exact
circumstances, but I will describe it and see if you see the same
thing. Many posts look just fine back through the nested replies.
However, at some point, someone will reply and hard line breaks will
be inserted into everything. The first time this happens it does not
look too bad. However, the next time it happens, it breaks the
previous indented lines all the way back to the first message in such
a way that everything before the last reply is almost impossible to
read. Successive replies through such a system make this even worse.

I am not sure if the problem is with certain mail programs that put in
the hard line breaks, or if it is replies that go through the Yahoo
groups that do this (or perhaps both). But it is one of the things
that I find very frustrating with the broken status quo. You can see
a simple example that has not cascaded too much in this message.

Do you see this also?

Best regards,
Dennis
