[amibroker] The Say command is funny

i tried to use the say for quick notification of myscans.
here is what i find
Say("buying " + Name() ); only says buying
Say(LastValue(Close)); nothing happens.

is there any info on the grammer and word limitation that can be used. 
infact the example in the afl guide uses the name() function with the 
say. but for me it does not state the name.

when i try
Say("WHAT IS GOING ON");

i hear What is. "Going ON" is missing.
