Thank you Dennis and d for sharing your setup - it is very interesting and helpful to learn what others are doing.

I am concerned about anything that depends on a control (virtualization) program to keep things up and running.

That is why I am considering using separate hard disks, each one bootable. The bootstrap (?... this is taking me back in
time some 20 years...) program can still fail but is probably extremely small. however, the Acronis DD also includes
recovery programs.

Currently I use just one development (3 monitors, expandable) and one laptop (two monitors) trading computer. I spend most of my
time in development (the fun part). I plan to give trading more priority but it still would be something that happens
off to the side of my main desk. I will use voice reporting to keep me informed about trades etc.

Synergy sounds interesting... I would be able to control the laptop without moving my chair :-)
there was some mentioning about difficulty in setup... was it easy d? The price is right! :-)

I chatted with Acronis and they tell me I should be able to read my data-drive from XP32, Vista32, and Vista64 running
in another partition (disk). This means i should be able to have a common drive for all my AFL, DATA, and docs - without loss
of speed. It also means that I can run plugins in their required OS to maintain my DBs, while i can access the DBs from 64
bit programs. I love this idea.

I wonder what Tomasz would have to say about this and I may email AB-support to be sure.

Excellent point about virtualization!! I've been reading up on it and am
considering using it - very flexible in multi-os situations.

Herman - take a serious look at this.
