RE: [amibroker] Re: Multiple desktop AB icons + databases

My understanding of the instructions was that you actually
have to create multiple installations of AB into different
folders since the file that stores the data folder
information resides in AB folder.
So, you could have AB(Data1) and AB(Data2) separate folders
each using a different database.
Then, create shortcuts one starting in AB(Data1) folder, and
the other in AB(Data2) folder.
If you do not separate instances of AB one will overwrite
settings of the other.
Maybe it is backwards compatibility issues that prevent TJ
from modifying AB to accept command line options.

databases

does TJ suggestion works.

i tried the following. the default shortcut poitns to
"C:\Program
Files\AmiBroker" which houses the default database
C:\Program
Files\AmiBroker\MyNewData
I created a new shortcut with start in pointing to
E:\data\Stocks
either of teh short cut opens the databse at C:\Program
Files\AmiBroker\MyNewData

Pl let me know if i should do it any differently. BTW: i use
