I think the intention was to change the data folder in preferences, not the icon. 


I have changed my approach because I wanted to share a common formula folder, layouts, etc. for the various icons. I could not get it to work without going through some acrobatics and subsequent significant maintenance. In order to get/keep moving with my project I now use one instance and switch DBs. i may look at this at a later time.
