Ok,I'm back.Sorry,but if I don't get a good 6 hrs sleep I'm no good
the next day.

Yes but still ends at 4/10 2006.

Yes.

Yes,it says Path\"C:\Program Files\Amibroker\Data_Test\",3
symbols,0 quotes in ^DJI

The spreadsheet is empty.

Just to make sure I understand you,I click on the start button in
Windows, then Amibroker,Amiquote. Amiquote opens and I click on
the "open file" icon on the top left. The "open" window pops up and I
click on the "Download" file.(BTW,the file named "Download"is the
only one on the list which has a regular file icon next to it and not
a "Q" icon.I don't know if this is important or not,just figured I'd
mention it.)

Anyway,I did this and when I clicked on the "download"
file,"download" is shown in the "look in" space, but the field below
is just blank. There are no file names there for me to click on.

As far as I can tell, the "Download" folder is empty.

I copied "^DJI.aqh" from your reply, changed .aqh to txt and pasted
it in the "file name" box in the "open" window, hit the open buttonand
a window pops up that says " ^DJI.txt file not found. Please verify
the correct file name was given."But,if I paste ^DJI.aqh into the
file name box ,the Amiquote download screen pops up and in
the "ticker" column on the first line it says"$NAME ^DJI" and next to
it in the "status" column it says "waiting...".the next line down
says"2008-03-14" in the "ticker" column, with "waiting..." in
the "status" column.Next line "2008-03-13",etc,all the way down
to "2000-01-03" at the end of the list.

Yes.

Yes.

No,I haven't.

The only out-of-the-ordinary thing I have going on with this may or
may not have anything to do with this.I originally had Amibroker back
in '03 on another computer.I had to bring it in to service and it was
returned with all the data lost(the whole computer, not just Amibroker
data.)I wasn't all that into stock trading at the time so I never
downloaded it again until just a few days ago.I figured that it was
lost and I was out of luck, but someone told me that I could download
it again and Amibroker could send me the key again, which is what
happened.

However, not knowing any better,I downloaded version 5.0 which worked
ok until I tried to save data and couldn't.Support told me to use
version 4.80.If I wanted V5.0 I would need to pay for the upgrade. So
I downloaded 4.8 without uninstalling 5.0 first.(maybe not such a
good idea,I wasn't thinking).I downloaded the key
again and that is where my problems with data downloading started.I
could download data in 5.0 but not save.In 4.8 I can't download at
all,or if I am ,I have no idea where the data is going.

I don't know if this last part is important, just trying to give
everyone as much info as I can.Thanks. -jim
