[amibroker] Re: quote download?

Alright, we are getting somewhere - your feedback is good so I can
work with that.

Maybe we are heading for a reinstall but let's get all the info we
can first.

a) Yes, "Data" is the original installed Dow sample database.

Please confirm you can click on an original Dow30 symbol and view
daily charts.

b) Close AB and open it.

Is Data_Test the default (open) database.

Hover your mouse over the bottom right corner of the status bar in
AB - you can confirm the database name/number of symbols and number
of quotes.

Please confirm that for me.

Also, click on ^DJI then the QuoteEditor icon on the AB tool bar
(Quote Editor will open - usually you there will be data records in
there just like a spreadsheet with dates columns and rows - I guess
you don't have that?)

c) If Data_Test isn't the current database unlikely) use the file
menu >> open database to get it (just click on the folder Data_Test
and then OK).

Go througth the above check to confirm if you have data in Quote
Editor.

OVER TO DATA DOWNLOADED FILES:

d) Look in ProgramFiles/AmiBroker/AmiQuote/Downloads

Have a look at the files.
^DJI.aqh
BA.aqh
CAT.aqh

should be at the top of the list (with KB of memory).

Do you have them?
Do you have them anywhere in that folder.

If so, make a copy of one, rename it as .txt and open it.
It should have price data in the format - date,O,H,L,C,vol, adjusted
close - one for each day of the month you downloaded.

Do you have that?

If not what files do you have in that folder (one example of each
suffix type).

OVER TO AMIQUOTE:

e) please look in Tools >> Settings

Do you have C:\Program Files\AmiBroker\AmiQuote\Download as the path
where the files will be stored? If not make that the path.

Do you have "Overwrite" selected as the default for local historical
files?

If not - make that the settings.

If you have to change those settings then start a new database
Data_Test2 - and repeat the import via AmiQuote then please have a
second look at the Amiquote download files and tell me what is in
there now (make sure you have given me all of the answers for
Data_Test before movint to Data_Test2.

I assume you haven't changed any other defaults on the AQ settings
page?

So, I need the above info.

If you don't have data files in the AmiQuote download folder that is
not good.
