Hi Brian,thanks for the reply.

To be honest,I've been screwing around with this so much over the
past few days that I'm not even sure which database is the one that
was shipped with Amibroker. However,I have one that is named "Data"
which contains^dji,^djt and the dow 30,along with 3 of my own that I
must of added at some point.I have data for all of the dow 30,but not
for ^dji,^djt, and my three. The data I do have ends at 4/10/2006.

I did this ,and I want to take a second to tell you exactly what I
did to make sure it's the right way and to make sure I did what I
think I did.

I clicked on the "new database" symbol at the top left corner of the
screen just under the green diamond.Database settings window pops
up,I type in "Data_Test",all the settings match yours,and I
hit"create" and then"ok".

c) go to Symbol >> new and type in ^DJI, BA, CAT then hit OK (the
> symbols will appear in your ALL list.

I did this, and they were in the ALL list.

e) open AmiQuote and select Tools >> get tickers from AmiBroker

yes

know

done

It goes through the list, says "completed","imported" after each
symbol.I click on the ticker symbol in the ALL list and I get a blank
chart and on top says"not enough data...".etc.

In Amiquote ,I hit the "open file" button and choose a file from the
list, say "biglist" (this is a list that I created on day 1).I would
then go to Amibroker, click on "file",and choose "biglist".Because of
the fact that Amiquote seemed to be working normally,(it would go
through the list,"completed, imported",the green progress bar at the
bottom would flash after each symbol),I figured that maybe I was
importing quotes to one file, but looking at another.I figured I would
make sure that the file being updated in Amiquote was the same as the
file that I had showing in Amibroker.I didn't remember seeing this in
the tutorial, but at that point,I was trying anything. -jim
