Bill:
I think you are right. Fred Tonetti wrote a vbs
program (Zoomit) which he turned into an hta file which pops a narrow
window up which allows for button presses for various periods. It is an ok
workaround but as you say, having programmatic control would be far
better.

I don't think you can fool BeginValue()/EndValue()
because they appear to be integrated with AA which results in global behavior
and consequent display in all windows which I personally find quite
annoying. Getting around this would be a development issue that I suspect
is beyond user control. However, it would certainly be desirable to
have more control over range markers via a dialog box and programmatically
so that all characteristics can be controlled, including activation,
deactivation, and color. This would not only enhance the
display of certain custom charting tools but also might provide a way of turning
them off in windows where they are not needed.

Subject: [amibroker] Set Range from
Parameter Window
From the help
file:
Range markers can be used to select zoom-in range
(View->Zoom->Range) and to perform calculations on selected values via
BeginValue and EndValue AFL functions.
Is the any command
or code snippit that would allow automatically adjusting the chart range from
dates set in the param window? IOW, click or type in the start date and
the end date, and then when closing the param box, the chart automatically
jumps to the range set by these dates?
Any way to do
this?
Thanks,
Ken
