RE: [amibroker] Tools for ASX Database Maintenance

Hi Michael,

Note that GICS sectors 60 and 65 are artificially created classifications by S&P specific to Australia and don’t actually represent sectors.

The 60 Property Trusts “sector” is actually a GICS level 3 Industry (Financials -> Real Estate -> Real Estate Investment Trusts – i.e. 404020)
The 65 Financials-x-Property Trusts “sector” is actually all GICS level 1 Financials Sector securities (40) less those in 404020.

This therefore means that you will have securities in the Financials sector that are also in these fictitious sectors too.

The best way around this is to have classifications down to level 4 (which we have in our commercial data service) but unfortunately AmiBroker only supports two levels right now.

Best regards,
Richard Dale.

65 Financial-x-Property trusts
