I agree.

Frankly I think that regardless of software you use the profits made depends on the trader's innovation. Having better software will allow the innovative trader to exploit niches that others can't, however if the software user doesn't have the drive or innovation to pursue new trading methods having leading edge software like AmiBroker be of much help. For example AmiBroker's execution speed allows the use of real-time composite that can be traded in the minute time frame.

So the opinion pole reflects what can be attained if you have both trader-innovation and good tools - there is no comparison with other TA software.

Personally i am more of a developer than a trader. I enjoy developing fully automated trading systems that work un-supervised, but they have their own unique set of problems.

Herman,

In my opinion, this poll has less to do with AB and more to do with methodology and the individual trader/investor.  I suspect that most responses would be unchanged if another program were used and quite often individuals will get different results with the same approach/program, reflecting to at least some degree specific characteristics (psychological, financial, risk/reward tolerance, full/part time, time frame, etc.).  As for your question, using a combination of charting (Gann, Fibonacci, and standard stuff) and indicators built-in or coded in several programs resulted in market specific timing (not everything turned at the same time).

Perhaps if you had done very well using AmiBroker you wouldn't want to come forward either.

to see how 213 traders are doing using AB.
