Hi,
I had GREAT luck with QT for several years or so, then the data simply
would NOT pass from QT to AB. After working TJ and Marcin for everything
I could get, all to NO avail. TJ got really peeved at my constant demands
on their time, and terminated our communications without resolution.
(Rightly so - as it turns out.)
After my messing around for say 2 months, I decided to check on the
number of installations of AB and AQ, that I had installed.
It turned out that since 2002-3 or so, along with a change of a computer
or two, I found multiple installations of AB on several HD's which I
mirrored from a previous computer. I believe I found 4 installations of
both AB and AQ. I then cleanup up those older mirrored drives, and remove
all traces of both AB and AQ --
Well, what do you know.... the confusion cleared up, and now I no longer
have that problem. I informed TJ and Marcin of this solution to the QT
data problem -- and knowing how long YOU have had your AB and AQ
installations, I suggest you check to make sure that you have the minimum
number of installations you REALLY need. I would suggest 1 as being
ideal, but you probably can keep at least 2 active -- from my
experience. Certainly not 4 or more different installations as I
had.
I developed this Theory of Multiple Installations for correction of all
sorts of problems between AB and QT. -- Try it, maybe it will be
true again.
Good Luck,
Hal

I would suggest you increase
number of bars in database settings to see if it fixes your problem. You
can set it as high as needed (above 500000 you need modify registry) if
you have enough memory and/or disk space.

- Tomasz: thanks. I checked
everything in the troubleshooting quide, and every test says that QT is
gathering data properly. The link showed all the tickers and
quotes. The separate QT plot screen shows 10min bars (my setting)
from 1 minute data. And I have the paid version so do not worry
about ad click rates. Everything has performed flawlessly since
Sep, 2006 up until this Tuesday.

- Can you suggest some additional tests I
could perform to see if AB is not getting the quote data from QT.
-
- Thanks for additional assistence.

- PS: the only firewall I run is the
hardware connection on a hardwired LinkSys router. Nothing changed
there, no new components on the system. I have been trying various
new downloaded software, but can not pinpoint any problems.
Everything has worked fine. No other problems on any other
software. No crashes nor unusual behavior on any other
software.

- Hmmm, the database settings show number
of bars = 100000 and 1 minute base time interval. Have I maxed out
the storage capacity according to what I have set? What will happen
if I change to 5 minute base time interval?

- <big smile> I paid the fee
to eliminate the ads. Also talked with the author of QT. All seems
right with QT. It is getting data, displaying data, seemingly
caching data. It seems that the problem is in the AB
interface, but I am not sure. Now have lost two days of data.
Drat!

- Any help out there?

showing "OK". But nothing is being recorded in
Amibroker. I do not know what else to do to try and make it
