That's not actually the case. Insert Linked / Drag-drop has nothing to do with how often you see Indicator Maintenance.
Explaining all bits is way way way beyond the scope of this list and you should simply accept the fact that
Indicator Maintenance Wizard exists and run it when prompted (usually you won't see the prompt for ages).
