d: sorry for not being clear. I want/need to do both. Set up watchlists
of industries. cycle thru these and create averages (sums and counts) for
each watchlist. Save these composites. Then run a different file and
perform some UPI, mdd, etc stats on all of the industry composites, then
sort.

Seems like this would have been done and published but again, I am coming up
short. (although I have found some help in the help files). I still could
use a pointer to some messages or code that does this.

Continuing to search...thanks for any assistance.

what are you looking for?

The code to do the naming? If so, what scheme do you want to use?

the code to cycle thru the watchlist?

All of the above?

None of the above?

I know (!) this has been discussed before but searches on yahoo and in saved
email messages on my drive does not reveal the coding needed to dynamically
name composites for multiple watchlists.

Simple task but I just can not get it to work---I want one AFL file to cycle
thru watchlists 30 through 45 (not 0 thru 14) and make composites and counts
for the stocks in those watchlists.

Can someone point me to a past message or group of messages which talks
about this?

I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Ken
