That's actually not too bad (within the limitations TJ offered with
regard to AmiBroker's ability to use the power). However, you really
should take a look at the Ars Technica Buyers Guide. Go to
http://arstechnica.com/guides/buyer/system-guide-200506.ars, and pay
special attention to the "Hot Rod" system. Ars Technica is for serious
hobbyists, so they talk about overclocking and games machines, but their
systems are a great place to begin planning your next box. My last three
computers have been based on their recommendations--usually for the
budget system, alas--and I have never had any trouble with them.

The one change I'd make in the current Hot Rod system is to go with two
1GB RAM sticks, rather than 512MB. And, of course, you will not
particularly need their game-oriented video card. Oh, and I like Maxtor
drives myself, simply because I've never had a problem with one, but
it's hard to argue with the five-year warranty on the Seagate drive they
recommend.

Good luck with it.

Drat! Now you have me thinking about upgrading again. And I've had this
system for less than six months.
