Hi Tomasz,
Don't know if you saw my earlier post (copy below). I have the latest
version of everything, I have also tried fully qualified stock names
(including just now AMZN-NASD-STK and AMZN-NASDAQ-STK). I still get
the same message about "please enter exchange".
SO this is really hurting now. I have tried to use QT as an
alternative but it runs extremely slowly and some of my alerts don't
sem to trigger. THe only quick fix I can think of is to try to go
back to the pre v8 interface. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
MM

blind !
Hi Tomasz,
I was running 838, so I have uupgraded but I am still getting the
same error. My current setup now is:
TWS 840.4
API 8.06
IBDLL 1.2
Note I did the install in safe mode to make sure I had no problems
with the OLE;dll being in use.
THe symbols I am using are standard Nas100 stocks , eg AMZN, BRCM,
EBAY, ADSK etc etc.
However as a further test I created a new database and added the
symbols.
ADSK, ESH5-GLOBEX-FUT and QQQ-SMART-STK (Note each one was a separate
test), they all got the same message.
On a related note I posted before about the strange case of IND
symbols such as TICK-NASD or NDX. Recently I did a test where I added
TICK (TICK-NASD-NASDAQ-IND) to the DB. At the same time though I was
using a little prog I wrote myself to get tick data directly thorugh
the API. Over the course of an hour my program received thousands of
price ticks, however I had only threee random entries in AB. I am
wondering if it doesn't like the fact that these symbols do not send
a bid and ask, only a "last tick"
Many thanks for your help
Regards
MM
