I have looked into HyperTrader. You're right, there is little
documentation. Some people on their forum recommended some examples
to be given but I'm not sure they plan to as the program is offered
for free. I doubt I would use their email option. I tried dynaorder
with metastock, which uses the email option. Sometimes it sent more
than one, even when waiting until the open of next bar was checked,
and sometimes it sent none at all. This is metastock's issue
though. But when it came for dynaorder to execute the order, it
didn't always go through. And when it read the multiple emails for
the same order, it would sometime execute multiple orders. Not
something I would really trust. Plus the delay is too much for
intraday. So, that said, I wouldn't recommend the email way. I'd
like to mess around with it to see if I could get it working direct.
Won't have time for 2 months or so when things die down. Either
that, or I'll have to write my own program to do it. But why
reinvent the wheel if it's already available. Just haven't found it
and I've done some reasonably extensive research. Maybe I'll have to
wait until Tradestation adopts automation for their forex sector.
Although, I'm not sure they ofter a paper trading demo. There is no
way I would want to test the accuracy of the their system on $25000
lots until I know it definitely works. But there system looks pretty
reliable. I'm hoping to get something working with amibroker though
as I like the platform better, even more so than Metastock. More
programming options and a better realtime GUI. So we'll see. Keep
me posted if you happen to come upon anything.
Best Regards,
David
