On other forums I have never been one to respond to posts like this because
product appreciation is rather subjective and dependent on your needs.
However this forum, for the AmiBroker product, has been an exception because
I think it is the most progressive, capable, and best supported technical
analysis software available - regardless of price.
Now, I haven't tried all TA software but I have on my shelf, under a
two-inch layer of dust, programs like MetaStock Real time, OmniTrader,
VerctorVest, TC2000, etc. None of these programs are on any of my computers
for the simple reason that none (imho) can do what AmiBroker does for me.
So, if you want to be leading edge and have a "real" trading edge, and you
willing to spend some time learning the system well then AmiBroker is the
product for you.
You will also find that AmiBroker users are, most of the time ;-) a friendly
and helpful bunch of people. Sometimes we see an emotional response but i
attribute that to a bad trading day :-))) not to an intentional desire to be
obnoxious.
Regarding implementing you trading strategies...well, unless you use
proprietary indicators and/or data, then i am pretty sure they can be
implemented. If in doubt post relevant questions on this list. Be sure to
browse the afl library on the amibroker site [

Subject: [amibroker] How does Amibroker compare against the rest
Would like to hear your opinions. If you have had a chance to use
other similare software (wealth-lab, tradestation, metastock...) how
does amibroker compare against them? It obviously beats them when it
comes to price but are you satisfied? Pros and Cons, limitations,
bottom line?
I just installed trial version and have intraday strategies that I
would like to try out. Not sure yet if Amibroker can do the job.
