Before everyone gets too exited and for 
accuracy sake, as of now:
 
1. Backfill is available ONLY in BETA version of IB TWS - and 
is NOT available in API for any 3rd party application
2. There is NO response from IB staff to the thread 
suggesting adding the backfill to the API

    so no one really knows 
if they plan to add it or not. 
3. Since there is already 40 symbol limit on streaming data 
and they don't want to rise that (see other threads on the forum) because of 
system load  
     I really doubt if backfill will be 
free.

        Hi,
         
        I've just got myself setup with the Interactive Broker plugin for 
        Amibroker. 
         
        IB doesn't provide a backfill feature. I think have that right. 
        
         
        So does this mean I will have to keep an IB/AB connection during 
        each trading session? 
         
        What about futures, will I have to stay connected for 24 hours to 
        get all the data I want for charts or just normal trading hours.
