API for access by other programs (AB), well, everybody is keeping their fingers
crossed :-) it certainly has been suggested to IB and i guess eventually it will
become available. Then, when the drain on their system gets too much they will
probably start charging for the servive.

collect data you have to keep the TWS open, if you shut down for a period,
you will have holes in your data/chart. Don't know about
futures.

to 30 days of backfill, very nice, but the data is not available andy other
way - yet.

Hi,
I've just got myself setup with the Interactive Broker plugin for
Amibroker.
IB doesn't provide a backfill feature. I think have that right.
So does this mean I will have to keep an IB/AB connection during each
trading session?
What about futures, will I have to stay connected for 24 hours to get
all the data I want for charts or just normal trading hours.
