To 
collect data you have to keep the TWS open, if you shut down for a period, you 
will have holes in your data/chart. Don't know about 
futures.

now offers real time charts (Right-Click on ticker Row) with up to 30 days of 
backfill, very nice, but the data is not available andy other way - 
yet.

  Hi,
   
  I've just got myself setup with the Interactive Broker plugin for 
  Amibroker. 
   
  IB doesn't provide a backfill feature. I think have that right. 
   
  So does this mean I will have to keep an IB/AB connection during each 
  trading session? 
   
  What about futures, will I have to stay connected for 24 hours to get all 
  the data I want for charts or just normal trading hours.
