There are at least a couple of ways to get stocks into watchlist folders
The results of a scan or exploration can be saved to watchlist, or from the
workspace right click on the ticker and select Add to watchlist.
Watchlists (and the groups etc) will only appear in the workspace if they
have tickers within them

Yahoo had some problems recently due to viruses overloading their servers.
Workspace view shows categories. You can change their names in
Symbol->Categories
window. There is no other control over it.
The 'last' price variable is just the last value of CLOSE built-in array.
