The data provided from the http://unicorn.us.com/advdec/ , "Comma-
delimited Plain Text Advance Decline data", historical data files,
contains duplicate entries. I stumbled across this and used
QuattroPro to compare the adjacent dates and found that there are
quite a few times where duplicate entries exist for all three
exchanges. At times the entries are identical. Other times they are
off by a few points.
Using this data as is for computing cumulative advance/decline
charts or Arms charts would result in errors, probably minor but
errors are never good.
I used the simple formula @IF(B1=B2,1000000,0) in another column to
compare adjacent date fields to write 1000000 where a match was
found. Then I scanned the list for 1000000 and removed the
duplicates.
