No, you would not have to partition unless you wanted to. A backed
up image is actually a file. Nothing more, nothing less. And a True
Image backup can be mounted just as if it were a real hard drive. So
you can restore a single file for example, rather than a whole
partition.
All the backed up partition does is become a file on the external
hard drive. Another backed up partition would become a second file.
You are limited only by the space on your external drive. You can
expect at least 2:1 compression.
