I tried the latest version of Omnitrader (I think)in March 2003.
It was a waste of time, period. Omnitrader is slow, it is a total
memory hog, and signals do change (Hey ! didn't it say buy QQQ
yesterday???). The catch with Omnitrader is that once you get the
software and play around with it, they try to sell you on their
Omnitrader club where improved signal reliability is "claimed". The
cost? $3,000 bucks I believe.
If you can't verify your systems signals on the charts and have those
signals stay constant day after day, well, you may as well go to a
casino and roll the dice!
I have been using Amibroker for 21 months now and it is by far the
best I have ever used for charting, testing and implimenting
mechanical trading systems at ANY price.....AND I have had great
trading success using Amibroker using ideas and formula's (and a few
of my own "modifications) presented here.
By the way, Omnitrader does not have an active board like Amibroker
and the formula's and ideas presented here are thought provoking and
will open your eyes and imagination.
When it arrives, send it back (I didn't have any trouble getting a
refund after 3 weeks).
As a matter of fact, why don't you just take the small plunge and get
started with Amibroker right now? The latest version 4.50.2 is
absolutely awesome!
