This warning came too late for me, and the problems I am
experiencing may not have to do with the errors caused by the Rx
special viewer...but then again they probably do.
When I received the error (because I tried the new backtest system
without disabling or reinstalling the original HtmlView.exe), I also
caused some hidden and related (but unknown) file problems. Such
that the following are my current problems:
My email message editor (Word) hangs up.
My two Graphics programs from JASC (Paint Shop Pro and Paint Shop
Photo Album) both hang when their Splash screens come up. I have to
unplug the computer to restart as the Task Manager has no effect on
stopping the hung programs).
My PhotoShop 7 hangs upon startup.
Various other programs are very slow in start up.
But IE6 runs and I can use Outlook to read messages just not reply
to them.
I have restored (WinXP Pro) to yesterdays automatically saved
settings but that did not help the problem.
I suspect I am facing a reinstall of all of the programs that are
not working....but hope to hear some words of advice if anyone has
them.
I suspect that some program that helps certain programs to startup
was wiped out when the error occurred with the Htmlview.exe problem.
This damn thing (the computer) is so complex--like automobiles today-
--a problem like this pops up and it is not at all easy to recover
from it.
Sigh.....

PS: writing this message from the yahoo group as my email editor
does not work.
PSS: backed up entire drive as of three days ago so that is my
fallback position....
