I really doubt if these problems were caused by RX. The error that
RX displays if it is not disabled is simply "Can not open file" and
that's it. This is completely harmless.
The problem you are experiencing seems completely unrelated
(even though there was time coincidence) and actually looks like a corruption
of one of the system libraries on your disk caused either by bad block
on hard disk or 'hard reset' and further attempt to 'fix' the problem by ScanDisk.
If you are getting errors when launching other programs you should
write down what exactly the error message says.
If it says "Access violation in OLEAUT32.DLL" (or something like that
then the .DLL where crash occurs may be the reason.
