By stating that "nobody" knows, when many people do know, it sounds like
you are speaking for "everybody". You could have said, "Some people may
not realize but...." OR "A few people may not realize but......" OR
EVEN "Most people may think that...." but when you are so definitive
that no one knows, then it sounds like you know all and speak for
everyone.

Ah, you have the characteristic to bring out the worst in people - me
included - I am starting to believe you actually like to be rude, that
it gives you pleasure in a perverse sort of way. I will bet you are
smiling at your monitor at just this instant.

You WILL reply. I will pay you 100 German marks if you do not reply.
But I know you WILL.

This is my last post to you and I apologize for wasting a lot of folks
time with discourse with you. I suspect many are deleting your messages
without reading them, as I will start to do now.

Ken,
as I wrote I had the same symptoms like the user described.
Even after uninstalling Rx AmiBroker no longer was functioning as
before.
And I have written "if you have installed the "Rx Backtest Report
Analyzer"..."
I have never claimed to speak for everybody, but why
do you spread such false information?

And here we have UM providing "customer support" for something that he
knows nothing about.  Yikes.

The previous messages never mention that the user tried to or did
install the Rx (Report Extractor) program.  So it is hard to understand
why this piece of "advice" is offered.

Still, consistent with the idea that UM can speak for everybody, and
still be wrong, once again he speaks harshly and derogatorily about
others.

I use Rx.  I understand why the file replaces the standard HTMLVIEW.EXE.
I understand why it is 350KB.  It does so many different things to save
the user time in recording multiple test reports, that is why it is
larger.  Plus, it flashes a message if it has been installed and the
user is attempting to extract Results in the standard manner.

Hi,
if you have installed the "Rx Backtest Report Analyzer"
then the error happens, because that programs replaces
the HTMLVIEW.EXE of AmiBroker with its own huge version
of size about 350 KB whereas the original is only 19 KB,
Nobody knows why this file replacement is done and what
its purpose is except the maker of that other program.

So, replace the HTMLVIEW.EXE with the original one
of AB and things should work again.

I've had the same experience once, and have informed
both the author and TJ on this.

I've removed the program.

Anthony,

Tried reloading v.4.3 but still does the same thing. Any more ideas?

Walter,

You do not need to be connected to the internet to open the
report....what
version are you using ?

Maybe do a fresh install of the program and see if that clears it....

Can you capture a picture of the message you are receiving and attach it
to
an email and post....

When I request a report of a backtested system a window appear
advising I am not connected to the internet (which I am).

Is this a web based report?

Can anyone advise how to get it to work?

Your assistance for this newbie is much appreciated.

Walter
