Hi dom1_1998,

One doesn't, at least not at present. You need to right click on the
pane you want the indicator to appear in, and chose 'edit formula'.
The formula window for that pane will appear, and you then need to
enter the code that makes whatever indicator you want to display
appear. It is awkward at first compared to something like MS. But
interface improvements are on the way, and there are a lot of other
things that balance this out right now anyway.

Be careful of 'insert'. It does NOT insert an indicator into a pane.
It opens (inserts) a completely new pane into the sheet, with the
selected indicator in that new pane. Actually -- and this is a key
to understanding -- when you 'insert', you don't insert indicators
into the present pane, you insert a new pane into the sheet that is
linked directly to a formula page that may contain one or more
indicators (usually just one, but could be more and could be quite
complex). To insert an indicator into an existing pane, you modify
the code via the right click I mentioned. There is no drag 'n' drop
for indicators yet, but Tomasz tells us this is planned.

Also, after 'inserting' (a pane, remember) you will find that the
previous panes do not resize exactly as you might expect, again
especially compared to MS. Play around with resizing panes on a
"throwaway" multi-pane sheet (at least 3 panes or more) to figure out
how it works; you want to understand this to save yourself some
frustration later. (It requires planning ahead based on this
knowledge to get a sheet looking just like you want it to look.)

As I say, the concept is different than MS or other programs. It
takes a while to get used to, but I and many others think the effort
is worth it. But Tomasz, we are waiting. ^^_^^
