Dear Udo, Tomasz,Dimitris et all:
Thanks for your help with the formula. It works! Although OBV is
primarily a volume indicator price does play an important part. It is
a leading indicator base on a running total of volume, whereas MACD is
wholly dependent on price. OBV rises or falls each day depending on
whether the price closes higher or lower than the previous day. If
higher its volume is added – indicating the Bulls are in charge; if
lower, volume is subtracted from OBV indicating Bears won the day.
I've always found it a dependable indicator so thought I would
experiment with this formula. Thanks again for your help and thoughts.
Dick H.
PS: Dimitris says "Perhaps you need something else for OBV()" any
suggestions?
