Hello,

In short: you don't have given symbol in the
database. There must be a *difference* between
the symbol you have entered and the contents of your ASCII file.

I have checked the data base and the symbols are there.
As I said in a subsequent post - I tried to do the import with a file
containing NO spaces at the end of the symbol and the same errors
occurred.
Note that your data
file seems to contain SPACES at the end of the symbol. The
spaces
are REMOVED by AmiBroker during import so proper
symbol is "AAC" not "AAC
"
as you may have entered.

Double check or
mark "auto-add new stock" so AmiBroker
could add missing symbol.
I did that and it imports the data correctly - but what happens is that
it adds stock that I don't want in my database and because I have no
historical data there really is nothing to display.
For stock that are already there - it added a second symbol for each
stock. :(
It seems to relate to the fact of whether I have auto add ticked or not -
if it is ticked - it adds data but gives me duplication for stock I
already have and adds stock I don't want.
If I don't have auto add ticked - I get error, regardless of whether the
import file has trailing spaces or not.

Subject: [amibroker] import EOD errors

I'm trying to import some EOD data using the import wizard.

I have data for about 200 stock but the list contains some 20,000 quotes - so I have unticked the option to automatically add new stock.

When I run the import - I get a bunch or errors and the log shows "this stock/ticker does not exist in the database" for every tick - even though it does - and none of the EOD data gets updated.

The form of the data is below.

AAC   ,030428,0.930,0.950,0.930,0.950,106803,0

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this doesn't import correctly?

Arthur
